Light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation i.e. laser is a very effective and useful form of light. When light of a certain wavelength is shone on an atom, the energy of the atom increases and it becomes excited and emits energy.
- Before such energy is emitted, a laser is formed by shining light of a specific wavelength on it.
- In a laser all atoms emit light waves coherently. These waves have the same direction and length. Laser beams travel in straight lines. They are attached. It also has a variety of colors.
- Stimulated emission of light was first discussed by Albert Einstein in 1916. But this miracle came true in 1954.
