How was paper invented?

 The invention of paper revolutionized human history. Today paper is a very important factor in practice. From books to currency notes, paper is used everywhere. 

• Paper was invented in the second century AD. 

• In AD 105, Tsai Loon, a Chinese chieftain, is reported to have produced paper. 




• A mixture of plant fibers and wheat stalks should be mixed with mulberry bark and then the mixture should be kneaded well and spread thinly on a woven cloth, so that a light writing surface is created. 

• This process of making paper was created by Tsai Loon. But the paper spread on the cloth was not stiff. Then it was improved and spread on bamboo and wood.


The Use of Paper in India


The use of paper in India was also spread on silk cloth in those days. This paper was the most expensive. This discovery of Tsai Loon was kept secret by the Chinese royal families. Finally, in the 7th century, paper techniques were announced and they reached Japan and Korea. 

• Arab soldiers captured some Chinese paper merchants in a war in 751. The technique of making paper from them reached the Arab world and from there it came to Europe in the twelfth century. 

• The art of making paper was first developed in Spain. 

• Tadpatra and Bhurjapatra were used for writing in India since ancient times. 

• B.C. Niarcus, who came to India with Alexander around 327, wrote that the Hindus were making paper by grinding rui (cotton).
